MEET W.J. WASHINGTON
President /Certified Events Manager
Willetrea J. Washington is the president and founder of Washington Events, established in 2013, an associations and events management firm, specializing in corporate meetings, conferences, and special event planning. Over the past several years Washington Events has assisted major corporations, businesses, membership associations, and politicians with the arrangements for their professional meetings and gatherings.
Along with the opportunity to be hired by Mayor Waterman, on the events committee for the 2018 State of the City Address, City of Pontiac. Ms. Washington has gone on to participate in several political campaigns, fundraisers for the community raising over $23,000.00, and continued support to local non-profits around the city of Pontiac.
In 2018, Willetrea was honored as a Grantee for the Flagstar's Pontiac's Big Idea Grant Program (PBIGP) for small businesses, where she received a $10,000.00 business grant for the expansion of her company. With her combined experience in management, event planning, and marketing – as well as her relationships building and access to resources – Willetrea can offer Washington Events clients a full menu of provided services.
Willetrea is a mother of three (3), enjoys reading, writing poetry, attending networking events, and spending time traveling with family.

Senior Managing Director
Cheriees Clayton is a customer-focused administrative professional, personal injury specialist, licensed insurance adjuster, and creative entrepreneur. She brings a combined 30+ years of experience in helping managers, teams, and companies to innovate, streamline and organize.
Cheriees knows how to meet people where they are and assist in the development, inspiration, and implementation of great ideas. She has worked across many industries and companies such as The Detroit Board of Education, Robert Half International, Motorsports & Hospitality, The Archdiocese of Atlanta, and multiple insurance companies. Cheriees is a licensed insurance agent, adjuster and recently became a certified insurance arbitrator.
In a past life, Cheriees was a licensed real estate agent in Georgia and is currently working on obtaining her license in Michigan. She also has a small online boutique that carries Afrocentric woven tote bags & accessories. Her future goal of learning Spanish and Sign Language.
Cheriees holds an associate degree in business administration from Baker College.

MEET CAILEE CHRISTIE
Marketing & Communications Coordinator
Cailee Christie is a Senior at Oakland University majoring in Communication and is the newest edition to the team. As the Marketing & Communications Coordinator she will assist in clerical work, technical marketing tasks, promoting and researching areas of improvement to brand, reputation, and efficiency, and implementing and improving changes in procedures at Washington Events LLC.
She is a member of Tau Sigma National Honor Society with a GPA of 3.56 and aspires to attend graduate school when she finds her passion, work towards getting a realtor’s license, and become a small business owner. Cailee participated in volunteer service within the Detroit/Pontiac area distributing clothes, shoes, bags, and accessories to the residents in the surrounding areas.
Cailee enjoys traveling, gardening, visiting with her family, reading, and spending quality time with her boyfriend and 2 cats.
